A 19-year-old transgender man (assigned female at birth, identifies as male) presents requesting a psychiatric evaluation letter for hormone therapy. He reports longstanding gender dysphoria since age 8, consistent male gender identity, and has been socially transitioned for 3 years. He also reports anxiety and depression that he attributes to family rejection and difficulty accessing gender-affirming care. The PMHNP must conduct an appropriate evaluation.
